Bahisht ( بہشت )  Novel by Bushra Rehman Pdf  is an Urdu fiction book which is very popular among readers. The author of this book is the well-known female novelist Bushra Rehman. Five different stories are included in the book. Three of them are short stories and two are novelettes. These stories are related to various social issues.

Book Summary:

The stories told in this book are on the topics of various social issues. Each of these stories the subject matter is different and the characters of the stories are also different from each other. Similarly, the main character of each story is also different.

These stories reflect the rural culture of Punjab. The names of the stories recorded in the book are as follows.

2. Begum Sahiba Novelt
3. Mamta Short Story
4. Amri short story
5. Bad Dua short story

The first story of the book, Bahisht, depicts Punjab’s farm fields, village culture, and ancient traditions. This story is basically a novella which laments the violation of moral values. Also emphasis has been placed on the observance of social traditions.

The name of the second story of the book is Begum Sahiba. This short story focuses on the function, and characteristics of the family system of Pakistan. A glimpse of feudal system of South Punjab is also shown. Also, the outdated traditions and defects of the feudal system have been pointed out.

The third story of the book is named Mamta, which highlights the value of mother’s relationship. Also a tribute to mother’s love, and compassion. These stories are actually drama stories. The fourth story of the book is Amri which means mother. This story is similar to the third story Mamta. The story also pays homage to the mother relationship. This story can be very useful for training school children. This story should be included in the school library. Such story books should also be included in the educational syllabus of children.

The name of the fifth story of the book is Baddua. It is a social story which condemns the atrocities of feudal system in feudal system.The language of these literary stories is very simple and easy. Even a less educated person can easily understand them.

About the Author of the Book:

Bushra Rehman was born on August 29, 1944 in Bahawalpur, Pakistan under British rule. She was a famous Pakistani female Urdu novelist. He received his primary education from his hometown. He obtained BA and MA Education degrees from Bahawalpur.

Apart from being a novelist, writer, he was also a prominent politician. She was elected as a member of the Punjab Assembly in 1985 on a seat reserved for women. He fought a vigorous legal battle for women’s issues and rights. In 2002, she was elected as a woman member in the National Assembly.

In recognition of his educational and literary services, he was awarded the Star of Distinction by the Government of Pakistan.
