This thing has settled in people’s minds that maybe Allah Ta’ala is a very strict person who behaves very harshly with people. Also, perhaps Allah’s heart is interested in sending people to hell.

Although this is not the case at all, Allah Ta’ala is a very compassionate being who loves humans very much. Mumtaz Mufti says that in the beginning, I thought the same thing that maybe Allah is the name of a very strict person.

He says that the concept of Allah in my mind was that Allah might be like a woman roasting grains. This strict woman will throw people into the furnace of hell. But that was not the case at all. It was just my illusion because Allah is such a being who loves man more than seventy mothers.

Mufti has discussed the following topics in the book. What is Islam? Is it a complete code of life or just a religion?

Who are Muslims? Are only those born to Muslims called Muslims or can other people also become Muslims?

According to Mufti, Islamic scholars are misleading people instead of interpreting Islam correctly. They interpret Islamic teachings in such a way that fights and differences between people increase.

Due to the arbitrary interpretation of Islamic teachings, sectarian differences have escalated to such an extent that it has reached the point of killing and vandalism. Scholars should inform people about the merits of Islam’s system of sustenance, the economic system, the justice system, and political system.

So that people can benefit from the blessings of this system.

About the Author:

Mumtaz Mufti was a prominent fiction writer of Urdu literature. He was born in the city of Batala in the Punjab province of India in 1905 during the British Raj. His father’s name was Muhammad Hussain he was a much-respected man in the area.

Mufti received his early education in Batala city. After completing his education, he joined the Education Department as a school teacher.

He started writing fiction while working as a school teacher. Initially, he was a writer with liberal and secular thinking. Later he became friends with the renowned scholar and fiction writer, Sufi intellectual Ashfaq Ahmed, which changed his views.
